ONLINE REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED.  REGISTER IN PERSON WHILE SPACE ALLOWS AT PACKET PICKUP Friday, June 20 (4-7pm) at Academy Sports + Outdoors – Sunland Park (801 S. Mesa Hills Dr.).

 

 

EVENT DESCRIPTION – Mission Valley Duathlon begins with a 5k run in the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo neighborhood.  The first run is followed by a 20k bike on the historical Mission Trail/Socorro Road.  Finally, the second run again takes place in the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo.  The entire course is flat and fast!!

Entry fee includes post-race snacks and drinks, race shirt, water bottle, chip timing, and more!

REGISTRATION CLOSES ON JUNE 20 – online registration closes Thursday 6/19 at 5pm. Register in person at Friday’s packet pickup, Academy Sports + Outdoors – Sunland (4-7pm).

REFUNDS & TRANSFERS.  A partial refund of your duathlon registration fee minus $30 will be given up to May 15 for requests made in writing to the race director (no emails). Mail requests to Race El Paso, P.O. Box 23208, El Paso, TX  79923.  After May 15 no refunds will be given. There are no transfers allowed.

Mission Valley Duathlon is presented by El Paso Sports Commission.  El Paso Sports Commission is committed to bringing outstanding events to the Mission Valley community, and its sponsorship defrays the cost of the event and helps keep entry fees low!


Mission Valley Du is USAT-sanctioned; USAT rules apply.

USAT MEMBERSHIP.  All athletes must be members of USA Triathlon to compete. If you do not have an annual membership, you must purchase a one-day pass for $12.  Every athlete must pick up his or her own race packet.  On-site packet pickup will require photo proof of identity (driver’s license, passport, etc).

 

MINIMUM AGE.  Athletes must be 12 years old or older to compete in the individual category.  Children under 12 may participate in the run portion of a relay team, but they may NOT participate in the cycling portion of the duathlon.

AWARDS.  Awards go to the Top Male Overall and Top Female Overall.  1st through 3rd place will be awarded to males and females in each of the following categories:  14 & Under, 15-16, 17-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+. 1st through 3rd place will be awarded to Clydesdales (Males 220+ lbs) Under 40, Clydesdales 40+, Athenas (Females 165+ lbs) Under 40, Athenas 40+, and Relay.

TRAVEL.  Coming soon!

PARKING.  Athletes are encouraged to bring family members/spectators in their cars.  Please plan ahead and arrive early. Check out the Race Green page for additional information on carpooling and offsetting your carbon emissions!

BIKE RENTALS.  Road bike rentals are available at Crazy Cat Cyclery – Airport (915.772.9666) and The Bicycle Company (915.544.2453) on a first-come, first-served basis.  Reserve early!
